99 Corolla automatic, car's engine light flashes when accelerating and car sputters heavily when going from 0-60km/hr, what could cause this problem. Already changed spark plugs did nothing, had a cylinder 1 & 4 misfire. Whats the problem. Ignition coils?

The first thing you can do is run a scan on the ECU to see if there are any troble codes recorded. Also check crank position sensor.

Check coils. Also, check to make sure compression is good in both cylinders. AS romyspec mentioned, scanning is a good idea too. If the light is flashing, that indicates a misfire. However, you got those codes. If it does the same thing, see if the codes have changed. You may also need to check fuel pump pressure.
