I have a 99 Lincoln continental that had a miss while idling, and loss of power during acceleration. Checked all eight coils and replaced one which tested bad. Also replaced fuel filter and plugs. Now car fires as if timings off and wont start. I replaced 1 coil, plugs, fuel filter should I clean off the dielectric grease I used? This car ran good prior to this

Do you know what cylinder is missing? Have you checked for trouble codes? Also, I noticed you replaced one coil pack. Was there a miss prior to the work? You said no, but I need to confirm why the coil was replaced.

Yes there was a miss, tested all eight coils and replaced the one that tested bad, cyl. 5 which was the cyl. Missfireing. Also replaced crank position sensor today, this changed nothing. Still cranking as if timings off. Compression test shows all cyl. Well within spec.. Maybe cam position sensor

Before you change the cam sensor, try switch the #5 coil with another one to see if the miss changes cylinder. Also, make sure the injector on cyl 5 is getting power and working.
