My 99 sonoma will not start up. It has a brand new battery in place, it will turn over but not start up. I hear the fuel pump come on. If I pour a little bit of gas into the throttle body it will start up and rev up once then die after burning off the gas. Also, 2 more problems I have with it is that when it was running it stopped putting out heat. Secondly the 4x4 wouldn't work properly, If I changed it from 2 to 4 you could hear the motor working but it would still be in the original drive. After many many tries it would then change. Could it be the push button itself or maybe a sensor or an actuator?

With the fuel pump running and starting only with aid of starting fluid, either there is insufficient fuel pressure or the injectors are not pulsing.
You need to test the fuel injector for power supply and pulsing. It could be a fault with the PCM.

When heating is insufficient, it could be due to low coolant level, faulty thermostat, bad air mix control or vacuumm leaks.

When 4 X 4 is used, how are the indicator lights showing? All, some or none of the shift select lights remains lit?
