Engine Stalls When In Drive?

Hi , I have a ford galaxy automatic , 1.9 tdi. it is a V reg. when I start the engine and put it into drive D it cuts off ,- how shall i put it-... it dies out completely, there is no power at all, the car doesn't move. When i start it again, it starts and runs, it doesn't move forward, I can only reverse. Weird right?

Proberbly a drive band or clutch problem, this will have to be checked by a transmission specialist, you can do a diagionstic scan just to see if there is an electrical issue, start here.
