I have a 1999 ford escort with 67000 miles on it. It was grandmas car. At 70 to 75 mph the trans seems to skip. It does not happen all the time. I checked the trans fluid. It is nice and pink. It does look like it is a little low on the dip stick but I checked it when it was cold. Should I do a trans flush or just add a little fluid to it? It seems to shift fine from 0-70mph.

Top off the transmision when its hot-probable causes here could be a fuel or spark problem. Do you have a check engine light and when was the last tune-up??

no ck eng lite. Never had a tune up. It feels like it just skip a beat. Do not notice any type of noise from the motor like a rpm drop or anything.

ours had a similar problem where it would sometimes feel like the tranny was slipping. mainly would do it at highway speeds when you would barely touch the gas or on hard exceleration. in our case plugs and wires fixed the problem
