Replaced starter thinking that was it. This 20 amp fuse goes to fuel pump too, but it only blows when actually trying to start. Also, the reason I replaced the starter is because when I disconnected the wire going to the starter solenoid, the fuse did not blow when putting ignition in start like it did before. Anything else I can check? Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows what else is on that circuit? Thanks.

My diagram shows #8 goes to these parts.

Wait... You must have the convertible. Convertible has this diagram.

I would check your wiring to the ignition switch. The short circuit is around there.

This seems to be a common problem.(20amp #8) I just had the same problem with my 1998. A guy on another board moves his car when the problem reoccurs. That doesn't make any sense since the starter doesn't move when you roll the car. But it worked for me. 1 day when I'm bored and want to spend my time and money I will replace the starter or at least the solenoid.
