I have a 99 Chevy Silverado 5.7lt and the fuel gauge moves

I have replaced fuel pump and it still moves. With the engine running and with key on

Did you replace the entire unit?

How much does it move?

It also could be a broken baffle in the tank.

Ive replace the whole unit and say you have 1/2 tank of gas it moves from both marks on each side fast

You may have a broken baffle allowing the fuel to slosh around in the tank

The fuel gauge will move with the key on and the engine off

Check your connections at the tank. Did you change the connector that was supplied with the module?

I got a new connector with the fuel pump. The fuel gauge was moving before I put a new one in. I was going to work when out of the blue it started moving and thats been about a year ago

Could it be a fuel pump balance relay or something like that
