I was driving my Volvo V70 today and the serpentine belt(NOT THE TIMING BELT) broke. The car shut off. I pulled over walked to Pepboys and bought a new serpentine belt. I replaced the belt and now when I turn the key it hums like the the crank is cranking the engine but there is no fire. The timing belt is still good. I took the cover off and checked. Myself and 3 other people agree it sounds like the engine is crancking when you turn the key over and it seems to be getting gas and air just not the very important spark. Thanks for reading and any help would be appriciated. Thanks, Jeff (Nashville, TN)

Start with bascis. Check compression. Check fuel pressure and spark.

The fact that the belt broke means something locked up and broke the belt. You need to find that reason.
