Hi, I'm looking to get a 98' forester that had the head gasket serviced at 130,000 just for maintenance. Water pump and timing belt were done at the same time. Its got 145,000 miles on it now. No visible problems including rust. The tires look even and unworn. Should I service the head gasket at a certain mileage if I purchase it or if I begin to notice issues with it. Clean title. Is this a good purchase?

I have never heard of changing the Head gasket as a service interval only when they fail. So dont know why it was done maybe a way to get more money out of the customer? That would be ridiculous if thats the case. If it looks like a good car for a fair price and it works for you then there you go.
