Where's saturntech? Actually I am asking what kind of issues these cars have with the auto trans it's 98 SC2 with 150k I am thinking about buying for 900. Any other problem info would help too. Like the ignition lock is acting up have to jiggle and play to get it to turn.

The two main issues with the transmission is the inputshaft nut loosens up no big deal or the pressure regulator bore wears and causes too high or low of line pressure. In that case I bore the upper valve body resleeve the pressure regulator and install a sure cure sonnax rebuild kit. Is there a delay bang in reverse?

Any specific symptom with input shaft nut loose? I take it the pressure bore gives the bang symptom? Any specific mileage these are likely to occur? Why do these cars burn oil?

Loose hub nut delay bang no reverse or you have to rev it up to move backwards. Worn regulator bore delay bang in reverse slipping in gears hard shifts soft shifts shift flares. There is no set mileage for loose nuts or worn bores. Usually eventually happens at some point. They burn oil from bad valve seals the wrong or bad pcvs lack of maintaince stuck oil rings cylinder walls worn unevenly.
