I need to know where the wires go on a starter for a 1998 pontiac transport. I read that if the wires are not hooked up right the "abs, brake, and tcs light" would all remain on. I called the chevy dealership and they told me I put three wires (red with fusible link going to orange, red with fusible link going to black and the wire from the battery) all on the one big post. The purple wire goes to the starter solenoid. I did exactly what they said and all those lights are still on. Also, I have a wire with a sensor that comes out of big wiring harness that comes out of the fuse box under the hood. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THIS WIRE GOES OR WHAT THE HECK IT IS! It can reach all the way across the motor but it is bent like it turned a corner or something. It was plugged in but now I have no idea where it was plugged in cause I let someone take it apart for me. And to top it off my air conditioning is NOT working and won't take anymore refrigerant in the system and it only took 2.2 pounds which I swear it should take more (but I don't know cause autozone was giving me ounces and it confused me.I am only one woman! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

First thing go to the people whoFIX cars not sell parts. Ok i'm sending a diagram which you should be able to print. But the big black wire and the two wires i've circled in green go to the big post on the solenoid. The purple wire goes to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. The wire that comes out of the fuse box I need to know what color it is. The a/c may be another problem but we need to know what color it is in stead of a big wire lol.

The only one I can see goes to the idleair control. There may already be a grnblk wire hooked to it. I've sent a picture and hopefully it wil be large enough.

DWe think it is the plug for the underhood light. The other thing you mentioned is hooked up. Unfortunately my hood doesn't have a light so I can't test my theory. Do you know why the airbag light would come on and stay on. We checked fuses to no luck. We also still have a break light on with an abs light and tcs light. I am assuming all these lights are somehow connected but no one can seem to tell me.

The rest of that will have to be checked with a scanner, you will need a pro do that as the auto parts scanner won't. So amechanic will have to scan it. But you could check fuses in the underhoodfuse block. They should be marked in the cover as to which one they are. You may have an abs traction problem but it could be a broken wire also. Your brakes will work just your abs won't. So it woud be like driving an older car without abs.
