heater blows cold. if i shut the heat off for awhile, then cut it back on it blows warm for a minute, then turns to cold again

Here are possble causes.

Engine coolant temperature low. Check the thermostat operations.

Insufficient engine coolant. Top up if necessary.

Insufficient engine coolant circulation. Checked for clogged hoses.

Clogged heater core. Have heater core flushed.
