not enough power

have 1998 honda crv-lx 2 w/drive. 104000 mls.
the engine loses power when on slight hill but o.k. on straight roads. Also smokes more than it should during cold start in the morning compared to my other car .

When was a tune-up last performed?

At the mileage, the fuel filter would have to be checked.

If the smoke is slightly grey, that is an indication of oil being burned in the cylinders and is usually due to worn valve seals.
