If you have to ask, this isn't a job you should tackle, no sarcasm intended. The exception is if you want to learn about engines. There's entire chapters in the service manual that cover the procedure but they don't address the many things mechanics do to prevent repeat problems. If you have the time and still want to try, start by buying the manufacturer's service manual, read through the procedure, then holler back before you start.
