I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre, pre-owned. It has an annoying habit. The car has its moments where it likes to squeak, not like a squeaky belt or anything, it squeakes only when the brakes are applied. We know it's not the belt because we had it checked, and the mechanic was supposed to fix this problem. Obviously he didn't. And it's a constant squeak when it does, although this does not happen everyday, it has its moments. Some days it squeaks and some days it doesn't. I am totally clueless on what this is. Any solutions?

If it only happens when the brakes are applied, chances are that is where it is coming from. Check to make sure the brake pads are in good condition. Make sure the brake rotors are not glazed. Finally, if everything looks good, a anti squeal product is made for brakes. Basically, you apply the product to the backs of the brake pads. That helps silence the noise.
