I'm having a knocking noise and rubbing coming from my front drivers side wheel of the car. I took it off to check and see if maybe some debree had gotten in the way or see if the wheel had come loose. What other things would I possibly want to check out that would cause such a problem?

Jack up the left front corner of the car. Push with one hand and pull with the the other hand, first in the 3-9 position, then in the 6-12 postion. There should be no play. IF there is play, one person needs to look at ball joint, tie rod ends and wheel bearing for possible play.
