I have a 1997 Plymouth grand voyager se rally with 198 thousand miles and when the engine and trans is cold it doesn't want to shift right away til it's almost full warm after the engine and trans is warmed up it's fine for the shifting and no problems

Is the trans fluid clean and full? If it is, because of the year and miles, chances are the seals and o-rings in the transmission are getting hard and brittle. As a result, they allow fluid to bypass them when they are cold. Once they are warm, they soften and swell resulting in proper shifting.
