my truck is acting up and sputtering (sounds like its choking and about to die) whats wrong?

when i touch my spark plug cables (1 and 3) i get shocked. could that be why my trucks acting up

Yes, that is the cause for the misfiring. The spark plug wires are bad. Have tha spark plugs checked as well.

Check for the Following Problems in Your Truck Staring with... Your Spark Plugs & Cables, Fuel Pump & Fuel Filter, Temperature Switch Sensor and Plug, Carburetor, Oil & Oil Filter... Check all this and You'll be Alright!
