In a rainy night I passed through rain collected about 6-8" deep. No pumps. When I came out of that deep water the muffler noise became loud, it was normal before this happens, it stayed loud since.

Do you have an explanation for that, what would be the part possibly damaged?

Thank you

Apparently you tore something off the exhaust system when you hit the water. The car will have to be inspected on a lift to determine what it needs to repair it. I suggest an exhaust specialty shop.
