My mom bought a 97 rodeo as a last resort for a ride. Well it was idling really high so I took a look at the throttle body and it was all gummed up so I cleaned it out and it seemed to idle just right. Well its got some really bad ticking and I think its the lifters and I aint ever replaced hydraulic lifters at all. And I was just wondering if anybody knew any cheap fixes to make the ticking noise stop without having to replace the lifters or if I need to replace them at all.
