gear shifter 1997 t-bird

1997 FORD THUNDERBIRD

My 1997 t-bird sometimes gets stuck in park but if I turn off the engine with it in drive and then put in park it won't get stuck. the dealer trying to tell me the shifter is worn out but I think its a electrical problem.

well, it's likely your shift **** button or your shift/brake interlock. if you can remove shifter cover and watch what's going on that might help?

i said **** **** but maybe lever is better word.
