Engine just died with no oil pressure

I have no oil pressure on my 97 ford Taurus changed the oil pump, oil filter, oil and gasket not leaking engine starts but is loud with no oil in it so we don't run it. Motor just killed at a stop sign had it towed home, stopped with no warnings of any kind. When got home relalized no oil pressure.

Not that I heard it's just really loud and showing no oil pressure

No oil pressure will cause the bearings to knock and the lifters to tick. What we need to do here is make sure the oil pressure is actually low. You need to get a mechanical oil pump and check it. Most parts stores will lend you one. It plugs into where the present oil sending unit is located. Remove yours and bolt the mechanical one in.

Let me know what you find. Also, is the noise coming from the engine or could it be an exhaust issue?
