How do I take apart a 96 Sunfire transmission apart

I am trying to take apart my transmission due to up grades. But still want to keep the shell.

Unless you have transmission experience, I would not attempt this. Us telling you how is a very big task as there are thousands of parts in a trans and if you leave anything out it will fail.
Take it out and go to a trans shop and have them do the upgrade for you. Maybe they will let you observe the repair.
