Why did my brake light, my battery light, and 4 wheel drive light came on and also the blower my a/c quit working? I have looked to you guys for help before. I had some clicking in my dash in all the warning lights were coming on as well as the a/c quit working. To save time to look at that other question that I posted annual see the details of that. Anyway, after advisement I replace the alternator in the trooper. At first everything went back to normal running wonderfully. Then when I got back in the car second time the a/c stopped blowing cold air but the blower was still working. It suddenly had all the same problems as in the clicking in the dash all the warning lights. So, we looked at it and couldn't figure out anything at the time so we just unhooked the compressor & figured it must be going out and causing other things happen. Several days went by I didn't use the blower at all, I just kept the windows down. 1 day on the way to work sadly all the warning lights came on and I noticed that when I tried to turn the blower on it wouldn't come on at all anymore. I don't even know where to start. I don't know if my alternator messed up something else. Any help would be awesome. Thank you. P.S I read a question from another person on your site somewhere and they had the same problem with a trooper and replaced the alternator and it was fine.

First, have the alternator checked. Next, if it is good, check the fuseable link between the alt and the battery. If it is bad, you won't get power back to the battery.

Im literally having the exact same problem, about 2 months ago same thing, and had the Alt changed out and a diagnostic check of the electrical system. Same thing again, same lights same problem. What would cause this to happen 2x within 60 days?

Hello,

Yep, you got to look at the quality of the rebuild, the alternator probably went bad.

Here is the test to confirm.

and
