1996 Ford F-350 strong gas smell

I have two gas tanks on my truck, and my mechanic has already confirmed that the fuel pump is shot in the front tank, so I haven't been driving it until I can afford to fix it, but it has a strong gas smell around it and when I opened the filler cap, it bubbled out some gas, and I have a yellow stain under the filler cap all down the side of my truck. I have not put any fuel or additives in the tank since I had it diagnosed. Any ideas?

gas will leave that kind of stain on lighter colored trucks. check for a blocked vent line and a bad gas cap as well. it should click three times to properly seat.
