What is it that blows out 4 coil packs?

When the motor runs before it blows the coil, it runs good until the coil goes. They said it had bad gas. Well I put 96 in there it It seemed to start missing more until it just shut down. And it had a bad smell inside the van and out and I burned almost a tank of gas in about 20 or 30 miles.
