The heater has good warm heat but the fan doesn't blow out enough to even feel it. There's not enough air coming out of the vents to defrost the windshield or anything. We wonder if the fan is the problem or if there maybe something disconnected underneath the dash going to the ductwork. Does anyone have any ideas? It's winter here now & we really need to figure this out & fix it.

Can you hear the blower motor running? Does it sound normal? Does the heat (regardless of the amount) come out of the correct area that you have it set for?

Yes, it seems to sound like the air is blowing like it should. This sound comes from the right side of the dash, of courts that's where the mother is though. Otherwise you don't hear much if you're on the drivers side. Also, yes all the settings work right when you switch them from vent to defrost, etc. It sounds to me like all the air is going somewhere behind the glove compartment. But we're not sure and also aren't so sure about how to get to that area to see. Kind of afraid to start taking the dash apart unless we know what we're doing.

Oops I think I hit the wrong letters or my autocorrect changed them. My reply was supposed to say : of course, that is where the motor is, not mother lol.

You know, I didn't even notice the mistake until I read your last reply. Lol I hate to say it, but it sounds like you have to dig into the blower motor to see if something is blocking the air or there is an issue with the fan itself. If you can hear it and nothing is really coming out, it sounds like something is blocking it.

OK, my bf thinks the fan may be blowing backward, I'm not sure how it would have got that way. He asked at the parts store about the wiring and was told that reversing the wires won't reverse the fan. The people we got it from had fixed some things on it, maybe the fan was one of them and they put it on backwards? Anyway, he plans to check that. We also have a Corsica with either blown heads or head gaskets so if the fan's bad we can use the one from it. If what he checks doesn't help we'll check for blockage. I'll let you know what we find. We may also need advice on taking the dash apart to do that too if we end up needing to. Thanks.

Let me know what you find. Also, if you reverse the wires on the fan, I believe it will cause the fan to run opposite.
