EGR valve

i had a code come up for a bad egr valve, the check engine light comes and goes. I have engine stalling when i accelerate and when i am idling. When the car stalls the check engine light will blink on occasion. What is the best way to solve the problem; is it by replacing the egr or blocking it off?

scan the engine for codes forst to see what the problem mis. sometimes you can clean the egr valve instead of replacing it. othewiseif you can't get it cleaned well enough you have to replace it.
