my 4 cylinder truck runs rough unless i hook it to a battery charger.

truck will barely run unless i connect a batery charger to it, battery is new, alt is good..also he has no power trying to climb a hill..

Seems you have a problem with an electrical issue. Have you tested the alternator charging rate, both between the battery terminals and between alternator main post and body ground?

The lack of power could be due to the electrical issue or other mechanicla faults. Get the electrical issues rectified first and see if there are any changes.
