1995 Dodge Ram not starting

Fuel filter was leaking so I changed it as well as the fuel water separator sensor and I cant get it to start. I put diesel fuel in the filter and have pumped the primer but I think this is wear the problem starts, when I pump the primer some fuel escapes from near the primer button. Do you have any suggestions.

When you pushed the primer did you have just the bleeder screw open?Did it run before replacing the filter?Also I would fix the fuel leak that happens while pushing the primer.
