1995 Chrysler Other battery

5hours earlier I was driving my car perfectly fine
then I came out to leave and the car would not start like the battery died
I did not leave the lights or anything on
now I am charging battery
but what could have caused this

That's how batteries typically fail. Measure the voltage with a digital voltmeter. If you find around 12.2 volts the battery is okay but discharged. If it's closer to 11 volts it has a shorted cell and must be replaced.
