I purchased a car yesterday, the owner gave me the title with her name printed on the back where it says SIGNED. I went to DMV (New York State), and the clerk told me she cannot accept the title because its signed where it says printed. If the owner writes a note with her signature explaing this mistake will the DMV accept the title then?

Let her sign beside the her printed name and get her ID with you or bring her in with you and get it over with. They get technical sometimes-that makes you feel you stole the car even with a bill of sale they insist
