1994 Nissan won't turn over

1994 nissan truck has been sitting for 12 months. Battery is fairly new, and has relatively clean terminals. After connecting to jumper cables, engine will turn slowly but won't fire.. . . What next?

Remove plugs and see if the engine will spin faster with no comp, check earth cable connection and see if cables are getting hot (bad earth) have the starter checked as well.
