1994 Ford Ranger Initial Battery Gauge 10 Replaced Alternator Battery

Initial problem, battery gauge 10. Replaced alternator and battery. Battery gauge still reads 10. Checked all grounds. Basically right where I started. Battery reads 10.63 output. Atlernator reads 0. All leads from Alternator checked and ok. Alternator bench tested. its ok.

battery may be bad as it must provide 12 volts to the alternator in order for it to work
