1994 Chevrolet S10 4x4 keeps cutting off. We have replaced egr, coil, plugs, wires, disributor, rotar, moduel under distributor, fuel pump (pump only). It will run for abt 1 hr then just cuts off; when this happens we check the fire (good) then unplug the battery and let it cool. The exhaust manifold cools to touch but the intake manifold is very hot. Let it sit for 30-45 minutes plug the battery back up and it starts. Will stay running in park or nutural but in drive when it acts up it acts like it's about to cut off and if you don't hit the gas hard or put it in nutural it cuts off and then you have to wait.

You have replaced about about everything. The 4.3L had trouble with intake manifolds leaking during this time period. Have you checked closely for leaks? As far as the intake getting hot, they all do, but it should cool down with the engine.

Also, why are you using a battery pack to start it? Is the battery in it dead?
