Blazer missing, spitting, sputtering

My 1994 full sized Blazer is spitting, and missing badly. It began shortly after I left the lights on and ran the battery dead. The car ran fine for about 2 miles then began missing badly and lost all power. The alt gage is pegged at 0. I tried driving home this way and lost my power brakes and then my gas and tach gages quit working too. I turned it off and walked home to get my other car and my son.

When we got back to the car, it started right up and ran like normal. My son drove the car the mile back to my house. About 3 blocks before getting back it started doing the same thing again. Missing badly and the alt gage pegged at 0 a0gain. What's up?

It has a crate motor and runs strong with no noise (about 30k on motor).

The voltage should be checked, it seems that there is an alternator or a charging system issue with your vehicle. Voltage at the battery when running should be 14 volts, if not, there might be a problem with the alternator.

I took the alt off and had it tested at Autozone. It tested ok. I reinstalled and put my charger with 50 amp boost on it. It did nothing, no turning over or anything. I do hear a ticking sound in my steering column. Sounds sort of like a the emergency flash type ticking. I did run my battery down with the 4 ways being on while I stopped at a restaurant. Any more ideas? Could my battery be junk? Thanks.

What is the voltage of the battery at rest, when you are cranking what is the voltage?

Check your main wiring connections. With a 50 amp boost it should say something, even if just a click from the starter!
