94 BMW 525i clutch friction point is suddenly near the floor. Is this a master/slave cylinder problem or an easier fix?

It probably has something to do with the hydraulics, inspect the master/slave cylinders for leakage, replace them if leakage is found and bleed the system before you start after the clutch.
