Regarding my 1993 Subaru 2wd no turbo, I've changed my passengerside cv joint and the ball joint on the axle of the same side. Now when I make a left hand turn with constant movement instead of touch and go on the turn I get metal on metal sound like a card in the spokes of a bike tire with the frequency of a running engine. Hope this helps. Let me know

Is the CV joint OEM? Was it installed correctly?

Check if the brake backing plate is too close to the rotor and brushing against it.

If you are turning left when the noise occurs. It is more than likely the Right hand outer CV joint that is faulty. What was the reason for replacing the left hand Joint? Was the noise the same as it was before?
