Was the check engine light on? The reason I ask is because it could be a few things. Most commonly is the crank sensor which should have set an engine code.
Do this and let me know what you find.
Cycle the key from off to on 3 times (NOT STARTING THE ENGINE OR CRANKING IT)
The 3rd time, let it in the run position.
The check engine light will begin flashing. You will need to have a pen with you to make this easier. Each trouble code is a 2 digit number. The check engine light will flash X number of times, briefly pause, then begin to flash again. Longer pauses are used to separate
individual 2-digit trouble codes.
For example, the lamp flashes 4 times, pauses, then flashes 6 more times. That would denote a code 46.
If I remember correctly, the first code you should get is a 12 (if my memory serves me well) and I do remember that 55 is the last one you should see. That indicates the test is done.
Let me know if this makes sense to you. Lol And, tell me if there are any trouble codes.
