Then one day I put on a trailer hitch kit that bolted to the same bolts as my fuel tank shield under the gas tank.I used an impact wrench to get the bolts out, and it really shook the car while removing them. I got the hitch on with no problems and drove home and the car worked perfectly.
Next day, car wouldn’t start.I checked for spark, and fuel at the fuel rail and there was no fuel. So I sprayed some starter fluid into one of the vacuum hoses on the air intake manifold and it started right up and ran for about ten seconds. So I figured it was another fuel issue.
I removed the filter, and put a jumper wire over the fuel relay and tried cranking it just to see if fuel would pump out of the pump, and there was no fuel pumping.
I read somewhere that if you disconnect the battery for a minute, the pcm will reset itself, and did that with no luck.I don’t hear ANY sound from the fuel pump no matter what I try. Is there more diagnostics I can do to test the fuel pump before I go
through the process of dropping the tank?
I would really appreciate it if you can help me and I thank you very much.
