My gas gauge does not work when it gets to be below 40 degrees. Do I need to replace the fuel pump because my float is going bad?

You shouldn't need to replace pump. Check to see if the wire leading to the sender is bad however that may be the problem or a bad ground from tank.

I don't think you can I fix it, it is frozen solid and won't move until warmer.
