My Explorer runs fine most mornings after sitting all night. Sometimes after driving it 30 maybe 100 miles It will lose Horse power Like you taken your foot off the gas. It continues to run smoothly. I've Changed the fuel filter, plugs, wires, Fuel pump, air filter, removed catalytic convertor, (reinstalled it didn't help)All kinds of Injector cleaners, its an obd1 and comes up with sometimes high or low O2 readings Changed sensors didn't help. Sometimes it will run fine many days in a row. Acts like something on vacuum side because heater box makes noise to tell you its coming. Any help appreciated. Thanks Don

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and run it to where you can see it while driving. If the pressure drops off slowly while you're driving, and goes real low when the problem occurs, the most likely suspect is a collapsing fuel strainer inside the gas tank. Typically the engine will stall, then the strainer stretches out after a few minutes and the engine will start and run fine for a few more minutes.
