I bought this car from an elderly lady who kept really good maintenance However she said GET AN OIL CHANGE... That was a month ago. I cant afford an oil change since i paid $2000 for the van. Then i noticed and oil leak and when i drove i heard a faint tapping in the engine, and the check gages came on We added 2 qrts and the tapping and light went away that was 6 days ago. Now there is a tapping and no light on. Whats the issue!?

Possibly a faulty lash adjuster, just topping up oil is not good enough you do not flush out all the carbon and acids that build up in the old oil, i would do an engine flush and used new oil and replace the filter and see if that helps.
