Engine noise.

The truck was running fine, parked one day tried to start a few days later would just turn & turn but would not start, tried a couple days later turned over & started but engine makes a very loud knocking noise & then goes dead, thinking it might be the timing chain broken, would anything else cause this.

The timing could cause it. If it is knocking, check timing before running again. IT could be an interference engine. As far as other things, make sure no coolant is getting into the engine via a bad head gasket.
