I have a 1992 Suburban that is blowing out the headlamps, both high and low beam. I cannot find a short, and it started happening with no notice. I have done no new wiring or had any front-end damage, and the new lamps blow out within minutes of installing them. Only the passenger side low beam does not blow out. The high beams and the driver side low beam all blow out.

why would a short blow them out? seems to me like over voltage would be the culprit?

Is this sealed beam or composite? If it is a bulb you replace rather than the headlamp itself. You shouldn't handle the bulb glass with your bare fingers. Can leave a greasy spot, that spot can cause overheat. Just a thought.
