My car broke down recently, it will crank but not run, a friend took a look at it and put gas directly into the caberator I turned the key then the car sounded like at wanted to start, then the losened the "main" fuel line and told me that if I turn the key fuel should come out, I turned the key and nothing. So he figured it was the fuel pump and or fuel filter, I went and bought both and changed the fuel pump and fuel filter, but still nothing, I then bought one fuel pump relay switch, there looks like theirs two of them but I bought one, but when I replaced the fuel pump relay the car still cranked up but did not start at all, what else can be the problem?

Do you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn key to run if so check the fuel pressure if its within specs and check if the injector are pulsing-if all okay-check for spark-Cannot hear the fuel pump-check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay

Ok I due turn the key to see if I hear the pump but I dont hear it go on. I will check the fuse, but do you know where I would find it, would it be with the other fuses under the dash?

I am having the exact same problem. I replaced the fuel pump, but not the fuel pump relay. When I checked the voltage at the fuel pump connector, it is showing 24 volts! What could be causing this?
