1991 Toyota Cressida Starter replacement

I have a 91 Cressida 7mge need to replace the starter but two things are stoping me first what is the best way to get to the top bolt since there is very little clearance 2nd my starter seem different than the one for the car at all the stores the starter is threaded and the bolts are facing from the transmission to the engine

Try using a swivel head socket to access the top bolt. As far as the starter, if it looks different, chances are it is the wrong one they are selling you. Remove the old one and compare it. If it is different, take the old one with you to the parts store.

I have a 91 cressida I drilled a 2in hole beside the gas pedal to get to the bolt got tired of fighting it takes me 10min to change the starter out now just get a rubber cap or brass closet door insert thing from lowes paint the sheet metal seal it up with silacone it is probly not the best way of doing it but it save you the time just take your time drilling your hole so your fire wall dosent look like swiss cheese
