Car wont start sounds as if want to but not

Car wont start and I checked dist cap for spark with screw driver and I dnt see spark on metal also chcked button but it rotates, also I dnt hear fuel pump when I turn key, it has done this before but after repeated tries
it starts, I have changed wires and spark plug when this happened before after new wires it started right up

Possibly a main relay problem.
