When I turn the key to start the car, I can hear the fuel pump engage, but it does not stop running, and the car will not start. Could this be the fuel pump relay or cutoff switch? I have a 1991 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6. If it is one of these two parts, where are they located.

Thank You,
Michael West

Check the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. It may be allowing the pressure to bypass and run back to the tank. On our homepage under the DIY section are directions. Go to the fuel pressure check.
