Just recently bought vitara, has had mechanical work and has a full mechanical history, drove around for about 2 weeks then suddenly under power it would loose rpm and would stall. Thought it was the auto choke kicking in, checked operates for a few seconds then opens, checked spark has good spark, ran car not running and check garby for fuel flow, fuel flow is ok, drove around without air filter and cover for a short time, same problem occurred, found a loose hose and reconnected it, seems to idle better but same problem, my question is, would it be a fuel filter? Fuel pump or vacuum house.

Can be is not oing to help as it can be any of those mentioned and many others.

If it is not idling proberly, you need to check/adjust the air fuel ratio, idling speed, ignition timing, valve clearance.
Give it a proper tune-up.
